    Program Officer – Agriculture, CNI SBSS

    The Synodical Board of Social Services (SBSS) is a development organisation of the Church of North India (CNI). CNI SBSS’s program is guided by promoting social, economic, and social inclusion for the most disadvantaged, irrespective of caste, creed, colour or gender. It works with marginalized communities in 6 states of India focusing on nutrition, livelihood, organic, allied farming and enabling access to government welfare schemes. CNI SBSS programs are designed in line with SDGs.

    Job Type: Full-time – Contractual

    Stationed at: Head Office, New Delhi

    Remuneration: Rs 60,000 to 70,000 Per Month (Commensurate to experience)

    Educational Qualification: Post Graduation in Agriculture.

    Experience: Min. 5 to 7 years of experience in designing and implementing organic farming and allied activities, food Security and nutrition programs.

    General Criteria: Age limit 32 – 40 yrs. The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong writing skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Gender : Female

    Desirable: Experience in budget management, proposal writing, Donor reporting and working with Government Departments, understanding of social security net, managing agriculture and nutrition projects.

    Languages known: Excellent communication skills in English. Working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    Programme Monitoring, Management, and Development Support

    • Planning and budgeting, disbursal of funds, and managing timely and quality implementation of project activities by field team(s). Maintain up-to-date accurate records of all program activities
    • Contribute to the implementation of effective monitoring, review, and evaluation strategies and activities for programs against agreed deliverables
    • Work with other members of the programs team in preparing and submitting program and other reports (workshop reports, quarterly/Half yearly and Annual reports, review and planning reports) on a timely basis, for internal and external use
    • Review 6 monthly and annual narrative reports on program implementation from the field and provide feedback
    • Provide capacity building and handholding support to the implementation team on different themes and PME systems
    • Review 6 monthly/ annual narrative reports and financial reports from the field area provide feedback and finalize the reports for submission as per donor requirements
    • Support Communication Team in donor reporting against result indicators monitoring framework
    • Establish, maintain, and strengthen effective relationships between networks at the state and national level
    • Regular Travel to  Field area(s)
    • Any other tasks, as assigned by Reporting Manager

    Program Officer – Communications, CNI SBSS

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Content management: Independently writing, editing, designing and publishing blogs, website, periodical bulletins, reports, brochures and other publications
    • Strategic Communications: Reaching out to and networking with like-minded institutions
    • Collaborating with program team to create organisational reports and other documents.
    • Internal Communication: Establishing internal procedures and protocols to meet timelines and assure an effective information flow as part of established routine and during events like workshops, field visits and trainings
    • Web and Social Media Management: Optimising online presence of the organization. Creating/maintaining the website, creation of engaging content for social media channels
    • Knowledge Management: Ensuring effective creation, collection and collation of organisational data, reports, publications, case stories, workshop reports and any other resource material
    • Report Preparation: Creating Annual/Half Yearly/Quarterly reports/ donor reports
    • Regular travel to field area(s)

    Accountant, SBSS

    Location: New Delhi

    Role & Responsibilities:

    1. Record expenditures and receipts related to the office on a day-to-day basis and prepare daily vouchers
    2. Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring the same
    3. Assist in monthly monitoring of accounts
    4. Prepare payment vouchers, record expenditures; receipts, and payments on a daily basis; and monthly Bank Reconciliations
    5. Assist in preparing monthly expense reports and detailed reports in the prescribed formats
    6. Coordination and preparation for audit
    7. Provide guidance regarding day-to-day accounting, Purchasing, and standard practices
    8. Liaise with the bank, income tax department, and other concerned authorities
    9. Maintain payroll
    10. Verify and reimburse staff travel and other expenses as per the norms
    11. Vouching of monthly petty cash reports submitted by regional and head office offices
    12. Provide assistance in acquiring assets and maintaining inventory
    13. Responsible for ensuring compliance with standard practices/norms
    14. Documentation of accounting reports as per funding agency norms
    15. Other general accounting/administrative duties assigned by the organization.

    Qualification & Experience:

    1. Bachelors or Master in Commerce with knowledge of Accounting & book-keeping
    2. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting & book-keeping preferably in the NGO Sector
    3. Trained and skillful in Tally ERP – 9
    4. Knowledge of Budgeting, SOP, Audit, Taxation, FCRA and general proficiency in computers is a must.

    Finance Officer, SBSS

    Location: New Delhi

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    Support in overall finance management of all aspects of Financial Management and Accounting for SBSS:

    • Support in developing finance monitoring systems on line with SOP Standard operating systems.
    • Safe guarding fund utilization as per agreement and approved budget.
    • Reviewing and scrutinizing project related expenditures and financial documentation at project office level and recommending changes if required.
    • Identify variances, analyze with program officers on critical areas and recommend for best fund management.
    • Support capacity building of staffs and monitor the developments in the system.
    • Assisting project offices in preparing quarterly funds flow, utilization and the annual budget and timely submitting to head office.
    • Ensure full compliance with FCRA and other statutory and legal compliances. Facilitate timely completion of audits of projects and other donor compliances, donor reporting and filing of returns.
    • Strengthening, streamlining and ensuring internal controls of the organization and partners.
    • Prepare all the necessary audit schedules and assist the internal and external auditors during audits.
    • Coordinating the implementation of internal and external auditor’s recommendations to the internal control system.
    • Compute own means of contribution at project and organizational level with evidences on quarterly basis and report to SBSS.
    • Line manages the accounts in the regional office and timely reporting to head office.

    Requirements of the Position:

    • Knowledge in Budgeting, SOP, Auditing, Taxation, FCRA, Skills of managing Tally, Microsoft Office and general proficiency in computers is a must.
    • Should have skill of analysis and interpretation of Accounting and Financial Data.
    • The candidate should be willing to travel extensively.

    Eligibility and Qualifications:

    • The candidate should be a graduate/postgraduate in Commerce.
    • Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in handling Financial Management functions in NGO.
