Finance Officer (Position Closed)

Location: Pune

Role & Responsibilities:

In charge of the overall finance management of all aspects of accounts and finance for project partners:

  • Support project partner in developing finance monitoring systems on line with SOP Standard operating systems.
  • Safe guarding fund utilization as per agreement and approved budget. Reporting discrepancies.
  • Reviewing and scrutinizing project related expenditures and financial documentation at project partner level and recommending changes if required.
  • Identify variances, Analyze with program officers on critical areas and recommend for best fund management.
  • Support capacity building of staffs and monitor the developments in the system.
  • Assisting project partner in preparing quarterly funds flow, utilization and the annual budget and timely submitting to head office.
  • Ensure full compliance with FCRA and other statutory and legal compliances. Facilitate timely completion of audits of project partner and other donor compliances, donor reporting and filing of returns.
  • Strengthening, streamlining and ensuring internal controls of the organization and partners.
  • Prepare all the necessary audit schedules and assist the internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Coordinating the implementation of internal and external auditor’s recommendations to the internal control system.
  • Compute own means of contribution at project partner level with evidences on quarterly basis and report to SBSS.
  • Line manages the accounts in the regional office and timely reporting to head office.

Requirements of the Position:

  • Knowledge in budgeting, SOP, audit, taxation, FCRA , skills of managing Tally, Microsoft Office and general proficiency in computers is a must.
  • Should have skill of analysis and interpretation of accounting and financial data.
  • The candidate should be willing to travel extensively.

Eligibility and Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be a graduate/postgraduate in Commerce.
  • Minimum experience of 2 to 5 years in handling Financial Management functions in NGO.
  • Candidate having experience of working in faith based organization will be given priority.

Chief Coordinator (Position Closed)

Location: New Delhi

Role & Responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible for the following:

  • The Chief Coordinator will be the over-all-in-charge of Management and Operations of CNI SBSS. As the ‘Secretary’ of the Society registered as CNI SBSS, he/she will be responsible for all the business of CNI SBSS.
  • Ensure that the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and towards which it makes consistent and timely progress.
  • Ensure excellence in program and financial management, consistent and high quality administration management.
  • Provide overall program direction and guidance to the organization with regards to strategic thinking, capacity building, organizational effectiveness, and partnership management.
  • Manage and supervise the work of senior management team members by guiding, coaching, setting objectives, and building team morale.
  • Perform resource mobilization, explore fund-raising opportunities and raise funds, represent the organization in forums for building strategic relationships and for increasing the organization’s circle of influence.

The Chief Coordinator as the Secretary will report to the Governing Body for all the business of CNI SBSS.

Eligibility and Qualifications

  • Post Graduate Qualification or MBA from an institution of repute with specialization General Management/ Masters in Social & other Sciences, NGO Governance with a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification working experience of which at least 10 years in leadership positions.
  • Experience of working in Faith based organizations/ diaconal ministry of Churches.
  • Experience of directly engaging with high value international funding partners and relationship building with partners within India and overseas.
  • Excellent communication, writing & presentation skills, analytical and interpersonal abilities, fluency in English and Hindi.

Communication and Documentation Coordinator (Position Closed)

Location: New Delhi

Role & Responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible for the following:

  • Internal Communications: Establishing internal procedures and protocols to meet deadlines and assure an effective information flow as part of the organization’s routine and on special events such as workshops, visits and training.
  • Content management: Independently writing, editing, designing and publishing for blogs, websites, periodic bulletins, reports, brochures and other publications.
  • Strategic Communications: Reaching out to and networking with institutions (such as NGOs, Networks, DBSS) and press at global and local levels.
  • Knowledge creation: Supporting current research and advocacy projects, in generating up-to-date literature reviews, creating data base, workshop reports and resource materials specific topics.
  • Working with the core team to put out organizational positions and documents.
  • Report preparation: Anchoring the organization’s donor reports.

This position requires extensive traveling to the remote areas.

Eligibility and Qualifications:

  • The candidate should be a postgraduate in mass communication or in development studies.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in communication and publication activities for the development sector. S/he must possess excellent writing skills in English and have a flair for editing. Oral and written skills in Hindi language are desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating complex issues in a cogent manner to diverse constituencies.
  • Experience in data interpretation, Website management, donor reporting and social media networking is desirable.

Program Officer, Peace Building Process (Position Closed)

Location: New Delhi with extensive traveling

“Local Capacities for Peace” or “Do No Harm” approach framework is a comprehensive tool to take up situational analysis of the context of conflict and find out options for alternative interventions in the project area. This tool is used as supportive strategy of the program and activities to address issues related to peace and harmony in communities. CNI SBSS is now focusing on engaging with the youth to mobilize them in building peace, integration within communities and building leadership of youths to build a counter culture of cooperation.

Roles & Responsibilities:
This position will be reporting to the Head of Programs. He/she will be the key person to coordinate the project: ‘Local Capacity for Peace building’

  • Project cycle management: Implementing PME system based on Do No Harm (DNH) principles. Planning & budgeting , disbursal of funds and, Managing timely and quality implementation of project by implementing partners.
  • Strategise the processes by identifying and resolving  critical issues of conflict as per  DNH model.
  • Work with other members of the Program team in preparing and submitting program and other reports (workshop reports, quarterly and annual reports and review and re-planning reports) on a timely basis, as required, for internal and external use.
  • Review six monthly, annual narrative reports on DNH implantation from partners and provide feedback.
  • Building capacity of DHN team on different models , guidelines and execution as needs identified.
  • Provide capacity building and hand-holding support to partners in DNH model based PME perspective in program management.
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen effective relationships between networks at national level

Qualification & Experience:

  1. Master’s Degree in Social Work/ Rural Development/ Community Development or any other relevant discipline from reputed institutions.
  2. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience out of which:
    1. Minimum 2- 3 years of experience in working with youth. (Crucial)
    2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in working with peace building process. (Crucial)
  3. Understanding of diaconal ministry. (Desirable)
  4. Organized State/ National level events. (Desirable)
  5. Oral and written command of Hindi and English.
  6. Experience of developing effective monitoring, review and evaluation of activities.
  7. Independently managing large scale projects.

Accountant (Position Closed)

Location:  New Delhi

Roles & Responsibilities:
This position will be reporting to the Head of Finance.

  • Record expenditures and receipts related to the office on a day to day basis and preparing daily vouchers.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and monitor the same.
  • Assist in monthly monitoring of accounts.
  • Prepare payment vouchers, record expenditures; receipts and payments; Bank Reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing monthly expense reports and detailed reports in the prescribed formats.
  • Coordination and preparation for audit.
  • Provide guidance regarding day to day accounting, Purchasing and standard practices.
  • Liaise with the bank, income tax department and other concerned authorities.
  • Maintain payroll.
  • Verify and reimbursement of staff travel and other expenses as per the norms.
  • Vouching of monthly petty cash reports submitted by state and head office offices.
  • Provide assistance in acquiring assets and maintenance of inventory.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance of standard practices/norms.

Qualification & Experience:
1.    Bachelor’s or Master’s in Commerce with knowledge of accounting & book keeping.
2.    Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting & book keeping preferably in NGO sector.
3.    Trained in Tally ERP – 9 & MS Office.
4.    Understanding of Income Tax Act, FCRA, Accounting Standards, EPF, TDS and other relevant laws.
