Review & Monitoring Visit to DBSS

Review and Monitoring of CNI SBSS project was conducted from 27th to 29th April 2015 to perceive the community’s outlook on the activities and programs conducted by the DBSS; and to understand the status of the Community Organizations, empowerment of villagers and their achievements in terms of bringing positive changes in the community. CNI SBSS works on Sustainable Livelihood, Dalits and Tribal Identities and Land in the project areas of DBSS Kolkata and DBSS Chotanagpur. Dr. Vijay Kumar Aruldas (Consultant for Review & Planning) was accompanied by Mr. Soumya Ranjan Mohanty (Head of Programs), Communication & Documentation Coordinator and the respective Program Officer of the Project area for the visits.

Meetings and Activities: Visited entrepreneur activities initiated by the Self Help Groups such as Pisciculture, Garmet Manufacturing and Organic Manure preparations.

Meeting with the members of Self Help Groups, Joint Livelihood Groups and People’s Organization Leaders to understand about the work carried by the DBSS. Rameswarpur cluster & Kolagachia cluster in North 24 Pargana District, Kolkata

DBSS Chotanagpur,

Meeting with the villagers and Gram Sabha leaders where they shared about their journey with DBSS in fighting against corruption and availing benefits through Government schemes. Bano Block in Simdega District, Jharkhand

Meeting with the People’s Organizations Leaders, Traditional Panchayat members, Ward Members, Self Held Group Members and 22 Parha Members. The women leaders shared their experiences and struggles in dealing with Government officials to avail rights, benefits and play their respective roles in the system.
